Privacy Policy

Last updated February 2026.

Your trust is the only reason Phonevault exists. This policy describes — in plain English — what we collect, how we protect it, and what we will never do with it.

What we collect

We collect only the data you choose to back up: messages, contacts, photos, videos, files, call history, notifications, and app metadata. We also store your email and a securely-hashed password so you can sign in.

How we protect it

Every file is encrypted with AES-256 before it leaves your phone. Your encryption key is derived on your device. Phonevault staff cannot read your data — even if compelled by law, we have nothing to hand over but ciphertext.

What we never do

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not train AI models on your private content. We do not share your information with third parties except a single payment processor (Stripe) and our hosting provider, both bound by strict data-processing agreements.

Your rights

You can export, restore, or permanently delete every byte of your data at any time from Settings. Deletion is irreversible and complete within 24 hours across all backups.
